Jade (born January 7, 1998), formerly and commonly known as Cristali, Cristali & Zafiro, Valdroxx, and known by his real name David Alejandro Pascual Argueta, is a Guatemalan YouTube user, animator, and artist who is partially known in the animation meme community.
He is very controversial within the community, a majority of members inculpating his actions of regularly tracing and replicating artwork and animations of other creators, namely Rossali, Seelmaru, etc.
Biography
He started his channel as a gaming channel, but never really got popular until he joined the animation meme community.
Controversies
Demeanor Towards Young Female Fans
Jade was publicly accused by multiple underage girls of soliciting nudes and sending them porn. In addition to that, he frequently claimed to be a girl in order to draw in younger female viewers.
Tracing
He traced other users' artwork and claimed it as his own, sometimes using this stolen artwork as the basis for pornographic content.
Threats
He frequently threatened people who worked for him, including the voice actresses for his characters. These threats often consisted of physical violence, such as when he boldly stated that he coldly told one of his actresses that he was "going to fix up some papers and leave [his] country to come find [her]."
Feud With Nawnii
Some time before his arrest he's threatened to put a false copyright claim against a video uploaded to YouTube by Nawnii that was critical of him, unless she removed all videos she had made about him and made a public apology. Having already two strikes against her channel, both of them false claims placed by Jade, getting another one would have caused her channel to be taken down by YouTube.
Since his arrest in 2019, Nawnii filed counterclaims against both strikes he has put against her channel and had them removed.
Child Pornography Arrest, Trial & Incarceration
On April 11, 2019, David Argueta was arrested for obtaining child pornography, then selling it, and then re-posting it online. He was released on bail two days later after paying 3,000 Quetzales (equivalent to about 400 US dollars) and his trial date was set for September before being delayed. In the meantime, he was prohibited from using any device that could access the internet.
David's trial finally began on December 11, 2019 and he is officially facing charges of possession of child pornography obtained under aggravated circumstances. The legal proceedings are ongoing.
In August 2020, he was sentenced to 3 years and 5 months in prison.
